Director of Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship
Impact investing represents a wide variety of projects that goes from philanthropy through responsible and sustainable investment; articulated in a way that alongside financial returns, they are seeking to achieve positive social impact (by social, we also mean environmental). It has become a global trend and more players are coming on board, as there is increasing evidence that impact investing offers impactful solutions in social terms, but also very attractive returns to investors. Latin America is currently the second largest market in impact investing and has experienced a growth larger than 12x from 2008 to date. This offers tremendous opportunities to the region as a whole and to Costa Rica in particular, as a pole of sustainable development. s.e.e.d. understands this landscape.
This is a sample of our scope of services. Areas marked in bold require special considerations when counseling in impact investing. However, our end goal with clients goes beyond solving specific legal problems. We aim to become allies in securing and enhancing their impact in their daily operations.
